This is a full set of 8 Hazel Atlas glasses featuring Charles Dickens characters from four of his written works. Specifically the eight glasses feature:
A Christmas Carol: Scrooge, Tiny Tim
David Copperfield: David, Mr. Micawber
Oliver Twist: Oliver, Fagin
The Pickwick Papers: Joe the “Fat Boy”, Mr Pickwick
The glassware was produced in the 1950s and features painted images by the Gay Fad Studios on the frosted glass. Gay Fad Studios opened in Lancaster, Ohio in 1945 by Fran Taylor. Taylor purchased blank glasses from Hazel Atlas and worked at home for 7 years designing and hand decorating this glassware. These glasses are a product of her studio that closed in 1962 .
While these glasses are in very good vintage condition there are some minor scuffs here & there. The only major flaw is a scratch on the glass of Mr. Pickwick. The last picture captures that. There is some minor fading of the paint but nothing egregious.
These 12 oz glasses, stand 5-1/8" tall.
