About American Olympic Karate

Students training at American Olympic Karate in Yonkers, New York

American Olympic Karate began with a simple belief: that traditional martial arts can change lives at any age. Today we are a proud karate school serving Yonkers and the surrounding Westchester community, welcoming students from their first white belt all the way to black belt and beyond.

Our approach blends time-honored technique with modern, positive teaching. We are serious about the art, but our dojo is warm, encouraging, and free of ego. Every class is built around respect, effort, and steady progress, so students feel challenged without ever feeling out of place.

Our instructors are the heart of the school. Each is an experienced black belt who has spent years not only mastering technique but learning how to teach it clearly and patiently. They know that a five-year-old, a busy parent, and a competitive teen all need something different from their training, and they coach accordingly.

We believe martial arts should build the whole person. Alongside kicks, blocks, and forms, students develop discipline, focus, and the quiet confidence that comes from setting a hard goal and reaching it. Those lessons follow our students home, into the classroom, and into their careers.

Families choose us because we are consistent, safe, and genuinely invested in every student's growth. We keep our classes personal, celebrate every belt promotion, and treat our members like part of an extended family. Many of our students have trained with us for years, and their progress is the truest measure of our work.

If you are looking for a karate school in Yonkers that will take your training seriously and treat you like family, we would love to meet you. See our class schedule and come visit the dojo.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Karate is more than a sport. It is a practice of character.
We train the body, sharpen the mind, and cultivate the discipline that carries into every area of life.

At American Olympic Karate, we hold every student to a high standard, not because we expect perfection, but because we know what each person is capable of achieving and by relentlessly pursuing perfection, we achieve excellence.
