American Olympic Karate offers teen karate classes in Yonkers, NY built for the pre-teen and teenage years, when confidence and self-discipline matter most. Training gives teenagers a positive place to push themselves, burn energy, and build the kind of grounded confidence that stands up to peer pressure and the noise of a screen-filled world.
Our teen students train hard and are held to a real standard, which is exactly why they rise to it. They build strength and skill through kata, sparring, and conditioning, alongside a supportive group of peers who take it as seriously as they do. See our class schedule and membership options to get your teen started.
Discipline and drive
Working toward each belt teaches teens to set a goal, put in the reps, and follow through, habits that pay off well beyond the dojo.
Confidence under pressure
Sparring and testing in front of the class build a real, tested confidence that helps teens handle stress and stand their ground.
Fitness that sticks
A demanding, genuinely fun workout that builds strength and coordination, and a healthy outlet for teenage energy.
WHY IT WORKS
What karate gives a teenager
IN THE DOJO
What a teen class looks like
Classes combine a serious warmup and conditioning with technique, kata, and controlled sparring. Instructors hold teens to a high standard while keeping the room positive and encouraging, so students are challenged, supported, and always working toward their next belt.
MEMBERSHIP
Junior Olympian membership
Three semi-private lessons and three group lessons every week. No contracts, no hidden fees, no charge for belt tests.
Our junior and teen classes serve roughly ages 9 through the mid-teens, grouped by age and level so your teenager trains with peers at a similar stage.
My teen has no experience. Is that a problem?02
Not at all. Most students start as beginners and learn the fundamentals in a structured, supportive setting. The first visit is always pressure-free.
Will karate help with discipline and confidence?03
It is one of the most common reasons parents enroll teens, and one of the first changes they notice. The structure and goals of karate build both.
Is it a real workout?04
Yes. Teen classes are physically demanding in the best way, building strength, coordination, and endurance, and giving teenage energy a healthy outlet.
When are teen classes held?05
Junior and teen classes run on weekday afternoons and evenings. Check the full schedule for current times, or call us to confirm.
