What age can my child start karate?01
Children can begin in our Youth Program at age 5. We group students by age and level so your child is always learning alongside kids at a similar stage.
Is karate safe for young kids?02
Yes. Classes are structured, closely supervised, and taught progressively by black-belt instructors. Kids learn control and respect from day one, in a safe and positive environment.
How does the belt system work?03
Students advance through belt ranks as they master new skills. Each belt is a clear, achievable goal, and there is never a charge for belt tests at American Olympic Karate.

What should my child wear to the first class?05
Just comfortable athletic clothes and water. A karate uniform (gi) comes later, once your child is ready to keep training. The first visit is always pressure-free.
